Consul General Fei Mingxing Attends Reed Dance Festival

On 7th September 2019, at the invitation of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini, Consul General Fei Mingxing attended the 35th Reed Dance Festival in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal Province (KZN). He also joined the King, Premier Sihle Zikalala of KZN and over 50,000 Zulu people at the the Chinese cultural and arts show presented by the Art Troupe of Zhejiang Normal University, the first ever at the Reed Dance Festival history.

                                                

The King welcomed Fei Mingxing to his palace and the Reed Dance Festival for the first time, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Xi Jinping, the Chinese Government and Chinese people for their sincere assistance to South Africa and its people. He said he was deeply touched by the donation by the Chinese enterprises and community to the floods stricken people in KZN last April. He congratulated the People's Republic of China on its 70th anniversary and said South Africa should learn from China in poverty alleviation and vocational training and other areas. He wished to see new achievements of China-South cooperation in the future.

 

Fei Mingxing thanked the King for his warm reception and wished the Reed Dance Festival a great success. He said that the Art Troupe of Zhejiang Normal University had brought "Chinese greetings and blessings" to the Zulu people. The communication between Chinese culture and Zulu culture will certainly facilitate the understanding and cooperation of the two countries and two peoples.
