On 12th September 2019, Consul General Fei Mingxing attended and delivered a speech at the launching of Art Exhibition "New Era and New Perspectives" by artists of China and South Africa and Hou Zhencheng Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Microcarving Exhibition at Durban Museumn, both jointly organized by Durban Museum of Art and the Confucius Institute of the Durban University of Technology. Thirteen artists of the two countries participated in the exhibitions.

Fei Mingxing warmly congratulated artists of the two countries on the launching of the exhibitions of their works on the occasion of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He stressed importance of cultural exchanges between China and South Africa in the "golden harvest time" and called artists of both exhibitions to make more contribution to the understanding of the two peoples through their "artists conversations" scheduled to take place following the opening of exhibitions.
