On July 16, Acting Consul General Miao Miao met at the Consulate General with Sixolise Tshobonga, champion of the 2026 South African “Chinese Bridge” Competition for College Students, and runner-up Aphile Ngcobo, and congratulated them on their outstanding achievements.

Miao encouraged the students to continue improving their Chinese proficiency, deepen their understanding of China’s history, culture and development, and become young ambassadors for China-South Africa friendship. The two students will soon travel to China to participate in the “Chinese Bridge” global finals and related observation activities. Miao encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity, showcase the spirit of South African youth, experience a true, multidimensional and panoramic view of China, and build friendship with young people from around the world.
