On 15 October, Miao Miao, Acting Consul General of China in Durban, attended the 2026 KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner’s Golf Day. Miao exchanged views with senior police officials, including Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and Deputy Provincial Commissioner Major General Gopal, and met representatives of the local Chinese community participating in the event.

Jointly organised by the South African Police Service in KwaZulu-Natal and the South African Police Service Education Trust (SAPSET), the event aimed to raise funds to help children of police officers who died in the line of duty complete their education.
